Description Be a hands-on expert practitioner, leading the development and implementation of deep learning (CNN, RNN, etc…) models to identify, profile, and classify blood samples from affected and control patients Research and implement algorithms and techniques in deep learning and machine learning in the field of early cancer detection Perform advanced analyses on large and complex proprietary data sets of genomic data Supervise and mentor junior data scientists Implement testing frameworks Review code, diagnostic output and methodologies Work well in a lean and dynamic startup environment
Skills and Experience Advanced degree (MS or PhD) in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Electrical Engineering or equivalent 5+ years of work experience in machine learning or deep learning Development experience in Python (industry or academic) Experience in manipulating datasets to extract signals from noisy data
Development experience with a major deep learning framework (Tensorflow, Torch, Caffe, etc) Ability to communicate results of machine learning models with leadership teams Experience planning and documenting research work Experience leading a lean team of data scientists is a plus Experience developing an original machine learning or deep learning model on new data is a plus Experience with genomic data is a plus

We are in the Arts & Tech district in Santa Monica, CA in a modern, bright, and spacious converted industrial barn with a full kitchen…all within walking distance to the Metro. Work-from-home and flex days are available.
Must live in the Los Angeles area and be willing to commute to our office. Relocation is possible for the right candidate.
