Senior Full Stack Developer

THE JOB / Senior Full Stack Developer

Do you take pride in creating responsive design for multiple browsers, platforms, and screen sizes? Do you have an exceptional ability to take Sketch and Photoshop files and bring them to life as a unified, functional experience on web and mobile platforms? We’re looking for a Senior Full Stack Developer with a leadership mentality to join our team. You’ll build amazing projects and run point from when we receive a request until it goes out to our consumers. The developers on our team are essential to our creative process. They are skilled makers who use both fundamentals and innovation to code ideas to life. They build projects fearlessly, and know how and when to take risks while staying within the necessary boundaries of our process. They approach every task with a strategic and creative mindset and have a keen eye for the landscape of the project, but understand the end result must always have both form and function.

THE WORK YOU’LL DO

Assist in and begin to plan, schedule and implement projects Develop projects on time, within budget and adhering to creative standards Work closely with and guide junior staff in absence of Development Director Write standard-compliant front-end code including testing/debugging in multiple browsers and platforms Work with designers to translate visual concepts into functional websites, microsites, and interactive applications Provide solid documentation of the systems developed Provide support of new business efforts from a technology standpoint Research technology trends, develop prototypes, and implement these to further enhance the existing systems Participates/provides support of new business efforts THE BIGGER TEAM YOU’LL JOIN Where others see complexity, we see possibility.

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR

A bachelor’s degree in a related field with 3 years of experience in a development role including1 year leading enterprise level development or 6+ years of experience in a development role including 1 year leading enterprise level development Seasoned Developer with proven knowledge of LAMP stack Knowledge of PHP and it’s best practices Expertise in source control, code review, and management of repositories with git Experience with Cloud Platform (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google App Engine) Ability to follow technical specifications and production processes Proven, in-depth knowledge of popular JavaScript frameworks such as jQuery, Angular, or React Demonstrates intermediate to advance idea and concept generation Demonstrates proficiency in ability to create memos, emails-work requires little/no revision from supervisor Exhibits understanding of overall marketing strategies and ability to create and execute creative deliverables Can identify issues or problems and recommend solutions Advanced knowledge of HTML5, CSS, and native JavaScript You understand group dynamics and behavior and can collaborate well with creative and account teams Octagon is proud to be an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
