The iTunes Platform team designs and builds best of breed systems for dealing with our complex and ever-growing data and infrastructure needs. We’re looking for a highly motivated, entrepreneurial, and hands on software architect/senior engineer ready to work at huge scale and become a key part in bringing amazing new products and services to market.
The iTunes Store has been innovating in the world of digital media distribution for more than 10 years. We’ve got tens of millions of pieces of content in more than 150 markets enjoyed by hundreds of millions of users, which powers various features within the Apple client applications - App Store, Apple Music, iTunes, iBooks, Podcast, etc. We’ve got unique and growing needs for data storage and consumption.
The Platform team is a key component in almost all new Store features, and you’ll get the chance to help build systems that can support a variety of usage patterns and a diverse range of objects at extreme scale. We are looking for a self starting, energetic individual with strong leadership and technical capabilities. The ideal candidate will collaborate cross-functionally with various iTunes teams, from the store and commerce through to search and recommendations, creating services and infrastructure platforms and pipelines that can rapidly scale and serve personalized and non-personalized data with very low latency. The selected candidate would be someone who is not afraid to question assumptions, is a good team player under tight deadlines and tackles problems with elegant technical solutions. You will need to have both the technical chops and the communication skills to articulate your ideas as well as influence others.
